Eyes are everything! No matter what the occasion is, your eyes at all times have to look good. As a student I’m always on a budget and I do love to look good and my eyelashes have to look good if not at least presentable, so its very important for me to get a good buy for my money. Fake eyelashes do give your eyes the eyelashes you’ve always wanted but its time consuming since I don’t wear them every day, and although looking good is a priority, I savour every minute of sleep that I get so when I do wake up for a class at 7:30 a.m. I spend a few minutes applying a product or two just to look decent, and one of those products are of course, mascara.
Mascara is an essential in every girls makeup-bag, whether you are a makeupholic or not. Mascara gives your eyelashes volume and gives it an extra oomph. My eyelashes are extremely short and quite straight, so I need loads of mascara on my eyes each day. When I started wearing makeup, I kept on changing mascaras as I couldn’t find one that actually catered for all my needs, eventually I started finding ones that were more suitable on me and that fitted my wallet too. I’ve decoded the best mascaras on a budget that will give your lashes the oomph that they need without looking less then a high-end product.
Maybelline The Colossal Volum’ Express Mascara
Maybelline colossal Volum’ Express: R115.
When I discovered this mascara I was in awe, I loved it. It gave my lashes volume, volume that I didn’t usually have. The wand is big, which makes it tricky to apply but eventually you get use to it, and the wand helps to get mascara all over each lash. I loved the volume for the price, and it’s definitely worth a try.
Maybelline Volum’ Express the Falsie Mascara
Maybelline Falsies Volum’ Express: R115,95
I discovered Falsies shortly after using the Colossal Mascara till its last drop. As I mentioned earlier, I have short, thin and quite straight lashes and with Falsies it definitely gave it the oomph that I wanted so badly. Although I had to pair this up with a layer of powder, it then gave my lashes that lift that I wanted so badly. I used this mascara from my first year of campus until my third year.

The wand is able to reach the root and every single lash, giving each lash the same voluminous effect so several coats don’t have to be applied, thereby making it great for a rushed morning before heading off to class or quick touch up during the day.
