When I thought of sunblock, I only thought of it as something that I would wear if I was going to be in the sun for a while for e.g. going for sport or going for a swim, little did I know that I had the complete wrong mentality. I literally thought sunblock was only to be used when I done the likes of the above activities, not realizing that each time I stepped out of the house I am in contact with the sun which is therefore affecting my skin.
I did not realize the damage that was being caused to my skin all these years that have gone by, not to mention the probability of cancer which had not dawned on me for an instant! Each time I look in the mirror and I am blinded by my hyperpigmentation and sunspots and I am filled with regret. I keep regretting this one little thing, which seemed like a little thing but years later I realize that it was actually a big thing.
There is no age limit or specific age when wearing sunscreen, but I do suggest you start wearing it at the soonest. Sunscreen will protect your skin against harmful ultraviolet rays of the sun. These harmful rays can be divided into two forms, namely: UVA and UVB rays. UVA rays are associated with aging and can help your skin look older, it also can pass through glass so you are exposed to UVA rays even when you are sitting in the car. UVB rays causes your skin to burn and change color. Both of these harmful rays could cause cancer. Skin that is exposed to the sun could become sunburnt and damaged; discolorations, dark spots as well as hyperpigmentation are just some of the downfalls.
I love the Xeroderm Sunscreen, its super affordable, doesn’t make your skin look pale and goes really well underneath makeup. If you would like to try it out, you can shop it here-
If you’d like to maintain an even skin tone, then I suggest you start wearing sunblock immediately! Even when its rainy! Yes, you heard it right! Wear sunblock even when its rainy as ultraviolet rays can penetrate through the clouds and is more likely to cause even more damage to your skin.
